Chloe von Schmaltzbaden

Nina Burks is a long-time member of the cast at TRF, playing various roles over the years I've been there, in each case, some noble woman in the court of the King.

Chloe von Schmaltzenbaden

She's been Amelia of Cleves, Anne Boleyn, and now, this last season, Chloe von Schmaltzbaden. In every case, her garb is lovely, as you might expect, as she's one of the official costumers of the faire.

Were that not enough, as you can see, she's a lovely lady, and has that hard to define quality that makes it evident for the camera.

That pic above is one of my Top Ten for the 2003 season, so here's a Hi-Res version.

Even More MudFaerie Pics

Here are a few pics I took late in the season of some of the sculptures of the MudFaeries, after I had posted entries here and there.

A piscine lookout, sculpted by the Mud Faeries
This little piscine lookout seems to have an eye peeled for some more treasure - he was ensconced in the bow of a boat.

What do you get when you cross a mermaid and Louis Armstrong? You guessed it - a blowfish. :-)

The Burly Minstrel

Jim Hancock is one of the featured performers at TRF, and I've mentioned him before. He's got a fine strong manly voice - as burly as he is, and can do most of the venues at faire acoustic - and for a performer that has the misfortune to have to play at the Sea Devil, with its craptacular sound system (doesn't work half the time, and it's hard to tell at any given time which half of the time you're witnessing) and rowdy, noisy, boisterous mobs, this is almost a requirement

This season, he spent a good part of the time barding at the Prince of Wales Pub, a new venue this season. While dropping by early one day to say hello to Collette, (she is a beer wench there) and collect my good morning smooch from her, I managed to snap this pic of him, as he was performing with Queen Anne's Lace.
